1,000 Prints on Organic Paper, Two Glass Tanks, Archival Pigment Print on Acrylic, Single Channel Video
2017
The Missouri River is an immersive multimedia installation that represents the river using three different forms. The archive is comprised of one 6’ by 1’ print, a 30-minute video, and two tanks containing 1,000 photographs of The Missouri River printed on paper made of starch that slowly disintegrate in 44 gallons of water. The project forgoes conventional taxonomy and preservation, and instead alters our experience of time and notions of preservation through the photographic collection. In this archive like the river, the only constant is change.
